Asperger’s/autism is usually considered to be as a “boy thing” because the standards for identifying spectrum folks were created based on the ways Aspie/autism appears in boys and men. So maybe it shouldn’t be surprising that current rates identify 8 boys for every 1 girl. But guess what? When using good, gender-blind tools, the REAL ratio is 1:1. And that’s BIG stuff.
